About Me
Hello my name is Alayna. I will graduate from Oklahoma City University with a Bachelors of science in Dance Management in May 2027. My journey with dance began at the age of two, when I began taking dance for fun. I participated in many performances and pageants throughout my childhood, which allowed me to develop my performance skills. I took a break from dance to explore my other creative outlets, like archery, vocal, guitar, art, horseback riding, and soccer. But there was always a passion for movement, and I came back to dance at the age of twelve. I was blessed to teach and choreograph multiple dance and gymnastic routines throughout my adolescent years while competing and volunteering in a dance class for children with special health care needs. Through these experiences, I realized that dance was more than just a fun thing to do, but something I wanted to turn into a lifelong career.
Dance remains an important part of my life. But through my experiences at OCU, I discovered arts management and the many different aspects of leadership.
I enjoy a large variety of leadership and creative outlets, including videography, photography, digital media productions, and choreography. I especially enjoy the blending of digital media with movement and creative aspects to provide a unique expression of art.
Beyond the stage and studio, I am a proud member of Alpha Chi Omega. I have held several leadership positions, including RAFA, and now I am serving as Panhellenic President for OCU. Through these opportunities, I have learned the importance of strong communication and always being willing to serve.
My goals include choreography and working in the film industry to promote the blending of movement, dance, and film. But most of all, I hope to always move with respect and strive for continuous growth in every creative space through thoughtful collaboration, while being authentically myself in all that I create.
Outside of my dance and leadership time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, creating digital media, horseback riding, and archery. I find these hobby's to greater enrich me as a person and remind myself that occasionally that while I will never stop being an artist it is okay to step away and separate my working self to experience the abundance of life and inspirational things that exists in the world.
